December 3 Varanasi to Lucknow

We left very very early in the morning on the tuk tuts ( auto rickshaws : 3 wheelers!) for the Varanasi station. We left so early and I slept on the train. We arrived about 1:30 pm, and went to freshen up at the hotel...the Executive...well, not by your standards, but I did get through it. You learn to do things the Indian way. The bed was like a board, but you survive!! We left later on again using tuk tuts for an evening of sight seeing. We stopped at a private boys school, French I believe, with a long, and distinguish background. No garbage around, lovely manicured grounds. The school building was so outstanding it will blow your socks off when you see the pics. The architecture was a fusion of Italian, Indian, British colonial, with lions statues, European statues around. It was a very pleasant walk. Then we stopped at a park, when it was getting dark, as the park was to be lit up. However, the lights had tripped, and we walked in twilight. I still took pics....it was very impressive....60 huge elephants carved in formation. There was an enormous area all with marble flooring. Lots of statues, and very interesting structures. We couldn't see them all, as it was getting dark, but it was still impressive. Afterwards we went to a restaurant for an evening meal, and returned to the hotel. I apologize for no pictures being uploaded, but there is not time to do it.
