Up early to get to the train station to start the trip to Ulverston. I walked to the station, bought the ticket, and promptly got on the train to London, then underground to Euston, then overland to Preston, where I changed trains to go to Ulverston. Rob was there to meet me with a beige Buddhist stole, which he put around my neck. It was wonderful to see Rob, my brother again after at least five years or more. We are very close. He drove me to his home and we had tea, goodies, and chatted, then went on a long walk for and hour and a half into the green hills and meadows of Ulverston. Lots of cows, sheep, beautiful vistas of the sea ( Morecambe Bay) and inland. We walked through farm land, past farmers, saw the sheep dogs rounding up cattle, chatting as we went. It was very invigorating. Rob is a great walker, and I welcomed the fresh air, and above all the exercise and company. We came back and had more tea, and then a delicious supper. Rob is a great, mostly vegetarian cook. He has a lovely home in Ulverston. We opened my parcel from India with my lovely silk wall hanging, Pashmina shawls, silk shawls etc and he showed me his pics of Bhutan. He has just got back from a great trip to Bhutan and the pics are quite spectacular. He has a lovely Buddhist shrine in his home, and lots of Buddhist hangings in the home, prayer flags outside. Rob is spiritual inspiration for me as he is a dedicated Buddhist and follows a daily regime of prayer and meditation. I feel so at home.
