Got up at 5 AM!! Went walking on Marine Drive.....it was actually COOL!!! Dark of course and a bit early for the daily exercisers. Headed by taxi to the studio after breakfast. We started at 8:30 AM and a good class with Natasha, refining the existing practice. She will be gone Thursday to the US. Then I braved the trains to Khar Road, auto rickshaw to Khar Danda, taking pics along the way. The pic below was actually last night, when I went for another foot massage.
Below, pic of Marine Drive, showing Queens Necklace, and sea wall.
Khar Danda: this woman was selling a pitch black fruit, that is white inside. I asked a guy, and he said it was a veggie, but I can't figure it out. Can you?
Young coconuts anyone?
I had a great day with the kids below. They are the very young ones in the class. Here having lunch. They were all ADD, ADHD, etc. They responded well as I had a Hindu aid, translating for the kids. We only did the actions and the words. Was a battle!! Very very unfocussed, but I persisted. They came through. Tania arrived with a crew of foreign Indian volunteers, and the kids, shone. She was quite impressed, as they were engaged. These kids need love!!!!! A keyboard arrived too, today, so I may even get a starting note for each song!!
Same class at lunch.
The alleyway street in Khar Danda: auto rickshaws, mixed with scooter, cars, and pedestrians, all squeezed into this alley. Hooting galore.....it was way busier ahead.
Chickens at lunch
Ironing is an Indian favourite. I can't get the laundry to stop ironing some of my shirts. Cold water wash is too much to ask.
The life of a dog in Mumbai. I noticed they were frisky this morning on my walk....only as it was cooler. Some actually barked!!!
The local hotel
Spices, garlic, measured out for you
On my return, I drew money. Trees in Mumbai are painted like this. Below is the sweet counter. The vendor on the left, wraps a leaf, pastes it with a jam like liquid, adds spices from those little pots, and handed it to the buyer on the right!!

Hmmm....those little black veggies are a mystery to me. They look like lumps of coal. Did you try one Dave?
