Today I went to the yoga studio at 8 AM to have my lesson with Natasha. It was very good. I am building a daily personal yoga practice now, and meditating most days. After that, I headed back to Sea Green to check out. The hotel was way way too expensive, and very poor quality. I moved to Chateau Windsor, which is way cheaper, and way more value. This is the hotel to stay at if you are in Mumbai. I am on the fifth floor, with shared bathroom, but that's ok.It took me a while to organize myself and belongings in this place. I had a pleasant lunch at Gaylords restaurant: curried vegetables, followed by Chai. Meals always comes with pickles ( green sauce actually) chutney, and always cut lemons and sliced red onions. I returned to the hotel, and took taxi to the cottage industries, thinking it was arts and crafts. It was very high end. Amazing carpets, beautiful stuff, but I needed to be rich to purchase. I really enjoyed it, and met some great people there, who persuaded me to buy a kirta, Kashmiri shawl, and a ring, which is gorgeous !! Now I feel more Indian. I will buy a topi, somewhere else on my travels! One shop I was in, I chatted to the salesmen, and one sang for me. I took a video of it!! My taxi driver waited for me the whole time, and took me to the coconut stand. The guy chopped the top off with his big knife, and put a straw in, and I drank down the delicious fresh coconut juice!! I am not happy with my weight so far, which seems to have increased. However the simple food at the Ashram later in my travels will take care of that, I'm sure. I came back by taxi as I was so so so hot, and wanted to shower. It didn't seem to work so I did the Indian "shower" which is pouring water from a jug over yourself, and soaping, then pouring more water to rinse. Hmmmm even more Indian! To a Canadian, the thought of pouring water over yourself is strange but it works!! I also had precise instructions from Sibh and Fazalu how to use an Indian toilet. There is a special sprayer that you can use, even for a regular toilet. My new hotel is really nice. Street life is very colourful everywhere. The baby in the hammock, lots of beggars. I took another crazy trip to draw money, and got lost in the dark, but a taxi rescued me, and got me to the right place. Very tired.
