Tuesday July 5 Isle of Wight: English holiday paradise

After breakfast, Gordon and I took off on a great long walk along the beach. We stopped for a coffee at a beach side coffee shop and walked towards the dinosaur museum. This island has Jurassic history and dinosaurs bones have been found here. We then walked along the coast, such a beautiful beach, as the pics show, and climbed up the cliff, walked along the top, admiring the flowers and great view. I loved the white chalk cliffs, and brown Jurassic sandstone rock layers. The weather was perfect as the pics show. We stopped at a hotel on the high cliffs, and Trish ( Tritsie as she is affectionately called) met us for a shandy, and cider. ( So much for my Indian weight loss program!!) We sat in the sun, and then drove back to their apartment. I read, slept, and we visited during the afternoon. Supper was bototjie ( a South African curried lean ground beef dish ) which I love, served with veggies, a G & T with Angostura bitters, lovely white South African wine, strawberries and cream for dessert. YUM! Afterwards we went for a quick walk along the beach and stopped in for a coffee and liqueor. What a day of laughter , joking and fun. Meanwhile the Wimbledon tennis has been on TV all day. Thanks for checking in.
