OMG! Tea ( and TANGANDA Tea, grown in Zim) in bed at 6:30 AM.....same as my colonial childhood!! Had a lovely breakfast with Don and Carrie, and having so much fun with them. I am so enjoying the Zimbabwe back to the past, experience. I have pics of Don's lovely garden, Carrie's sculptures. We visited the local market, which was great fun, and I bought some lovely goodies. At one counter, I was given a Baobab pod. I will break it open later, take a pic, and go back to childhood sucking the cream of tartar pips. I would bring it back to Canada, but I'm sure it won't make it through customs. I saw fresh rosellas . My brother and sister will remember the tart jam we used to make from this fruit, which is unavailable outside Zim. Today has been a wonderful day. We left the market and went to the National Gallery of Zimbabwe. It was great to look at the exhibits, the paintings, sculptures etc. A visit to the Alliance Francais cafe was special. I share the pics, and the many sculptures out in the hot sun. We had coffee, and then went home. I took pics of Don's garden, which I share and sculptures in his garden, as well as pics inside the lovely thatched home. Life is outside inside in Zim, which is lovely...so cool indoors. We had lunch out in the garden ( Zim avocado....such a treat!!). I have pics of orchids growing in the garden, Zim thorn trees, and the bantams roaming the lawns. Queenie is the white boss of the bantams. We threw out our corn cobs after eating, and they loved it. Oh, I forgot to tell you about the Teapot, the round thatched house in the garden, with upstairs bedroom, kitchen etc.....really cool!!

We all had an afternoon nap, then Don took me to draw money, see the neighbourhood, and check out the local gym, and also drop off the gardener. I went for a 40 minute walk around the neighbourhood, as I have missed out of adequate exercise watching game in a safari vehicle. A delightful supper and great conversation ended the relaxing and very very enjoyable day. Enjoy the pics, and thanks for checking in!!
