February 2 Puducherry

Today met my young friend Guna, and went looking for beds and bed frames. His mother is not well and can no longer sleep on a mat on the floor. Reminds me of how privileged we are. Most people sleep on the floor it seems. So we got quotes, and I bought it and had it delivered. This family is now my giving back project, which just happened on me. I spent the day doing yoga, reading etc, going for the early morning walk. Very disturbed during the lovely walk this morning as five dogs suddenly attacked another dog biting it. Took time to get over that! The sea air was cool and refreshing. I noticed Indians wearing toques, and many wearing ear muffs! I can't get over this: yes it's winter here and cool is 22C maybe a bit cooler with the sea breeze. Most locals can't tolerate much cold. There are retired people here from North India to get away from the winter in the north. Oh...they don't know what cold is!!!

After supper Guna picked me up on the back of his motorbike, and we went to his home. I took pics of the family sitting on the new bed. I hope his mother gets a good night's sleep tonight. Probably the whole family will benefit from the bed. It is good to feel that in a small way you can make some contribution. Below the father, mother and Guna sitting on the new bed.
I'm sitting with the parents. Comes with two pillows!!
Christian star lit up seen like this all over India at Christmas, but they still have it up!
