Good sleep in. Johnny and Lani are off to work, and I am enjoying a quiet day with Ferdi and Billy, and the cat.The two dogs jump up on my bed and curl up. All new for me! Now they want to cuddle while I am trying to type. They shiver as they have thin coats. It has been overcast and rainy here, and most pleasantly cool. What I love is the amazing concert of bird song early in the morning.....such variety. The birds are gorgeous the ones I have seen flying into Lani's bird feeder. Frans the cleaner guy is here today doing vacuuming etc. Lovely to have a quiet day to relax, and ponder on the Indian adventure. I can't believe it is over. I got a call from Johnny, and the travel agent. Johnny picked me up and I went to book a Soweto tour and pay. This will be Monday's enlightenment. Johnny returned to work, which is nearby, and I stayed at the shopping centre, looking at the different goods: biltong, nougat, etc, and bought supplies etc. This is upscale Pretoria, and the shops are amazing. Grocery shopping is more elegant than Edmonton for sure . Amazing things stocking the shelves. Of course veggies like you haven't seen in Canada, but gorgeous. Johnny met me after work, we had a cappuccino, and bought borewors ( traditional South African farmer's sausage, spiced) and lovely sosaties ( kebabs, curried) and booze for the braai (BBQ) tomorrow. Came home for supper, and fell into bed. It rained quite heavily. I love the rain....winter rain, of course it's hot during the day, but it has been so cool here, with a lot of rain. Thanks for checking in!!
The budgie at Johnny's. Talks all day. Life is indoor/outdoor of course...no basements here. Dogs love it, time in time outside. Quite an adjustment to experience first world again. Interesting how one can adapt to life in all kinds of conditions. Everything is spotless, clean, maintained etc here....very upscale, but of course I will have pics of Soweto on Monday.
