Up early for early breakfast, and taxi to Auroville to see the Matrimandir, and have time to explore the gardens around it. We were taken by bus again, and this time were taken to the Matrimandir through the space between the petals. As before it is a surreal experience, pink lighting on the triangle inner walls of the huge orb, then on a spiral walkway that encircled the inside of the huge Matrimandir. The stairs led to an inner area, where we were given socks, and followed into the inner sanctum to meditate. Amazing to look at the ray of sunlight that goes down to the crystal, and is diffused from there. The inner sanctum is all white marble ( actually most of the flooring was inside the Matrimandir ) with the lovely white marble pillars that go to the high ceiling. Yoga teachers will appreciate the actual image of sun energy in the form of white light ( love ) coming from above. I noticed that the inner walls of the Matrimandir inside the meditation area actually have the blue white light that we talk about ( the watery light of relaxation and surrender ) Perfect for meditation. After a longer meditation period, we left, and went our own way. I chose to walk around the gardens around the Matrimandir, and took some great shots of hibiscus varieties that are found in this area.
