Left at 9:15 AM with a taxi to Dr. Sundara's mountain top Ayurvedic Clinic. It really IS on top of the mountain, surrounded by tea bushes. He is a very smart man, fully qualified Ayurvedic doctor. The west treats diseases, often very well, but Ayurveda treats the general health of the person. He has an amazing knowledge of herbs, and treatments that go according to various profiles. This is holistic healing. I am Pitta Kaffa, which is a designation based on personality, body structure, and a lot of other details. Our bodies are a microcosm of the universal macrocosm. All goes well with me. Treatments are totally natural. We all use things like ginger and other herbs to treat ailments. The west needs the east. We have to recognize that. This doctor really know his business very well. I trust him. Today was consultation. He prescribed an Ayurvedic massage which is totally different to what you are used to. Two guys treat you. Tons of oil, with herbs.....the skin is the organ that absorbs. There is not a lot of muscular treatment but the massage works on a vibrational level. It is hectic but not painful like a Western massage. When done, your feet have to be dried of oil or you would skid on the floor. The oil is washed off with a powered paste, and you do get rid of it all. I felt totally refreshed. It all starts with a very thorough head massage. The taxi took me back. I checked into the organic store and went home for a bite of lunch and relaxation. It is cold in the mountains now. So soup, hot white tea ( the best) Palak Paneer ( spinach sauce with cottage cheese squares) some Chappati which is an Indian flat bread ( healthy) and some garlic chicken. I am off the spices for the moment, as I have a bit of a cold. So keep warm and cozy in frozen Alberta. The mists shroud the mountains today. It never freezes here, but like a South African winter, you feel the cold without central heating. Bed is warm!! Thanks for connecting!!
Chilly day. Clouds below us. Day for Reiki for me, and meditation. I have started 20 minutes of meditation a day. Plan to keep it up.
Below...front of Tea Nest....entrance.
Below. You get the two guys on the left for a massage if you are a male; the two ladies if you are female. Only Ayurvedic massage.
Misty tea estate below
Below is the entrance to Dr. Sundara's place. No road. You walk up!! Oneday it will be a road. What a journey. They closed the road due to roadwork, so it took an hour to get here, and we got lost too..lol! If I find the treatments great I will come back here. There is an Ayurvedic cooking class on Tuesday but I will miss it. In India, don't judge anything by the looks!! Everything is not what it seems.
