March 22 Muizenberg, Cape Town

Got up early 6 AM and went with Brendon and Roxie into town to drop her for work. We also dropped Busta, the Bouvier hound at the Doggie Day Care. Then Brendon and I drove to Table Mountain, parked, and began the two hour climb. It was fairly extreme, and I was glad to go with him. The sun did not beat down, and it was cool to ascend. Great views looking down at Cape Town Harbour. There were many Proteas, South Africa's really exotic national flower, growing on the mountain. Most Proteas were not in bloom however. I really enjoyed the climb: very energetic, and so good after sitting in buses. We went through a fairly narrow gap in the mountain to get to the flat top. Once there, we encountered many bus loads of tourists who had come up on the cable car. We had a good walk around the top, which was magnificent. I saw a dassie or rock rabbit up there, and got a good pic. There were abseilers at the top, climbing down the vertical cliff face! We came down in the cable car, and had a decent walk back to the point where the car was parked at the beginning of the climb. There are more extreme climbs to the top but our climb was challenging enough for me, and great exercise! How fortunate to get such great cool weather!!! There was an enormous line up for the cable car.....at least two hours wait. We missed all that....lol!

We then headed for the waterfront, and walked around. Very impressive: African singers, seals, the different quays, lovely upscale shopping areas.....it has it all.Brendon did a bit of shopping for Roxie, and he and I had a great meal at a very nice place. What a great time! I had a nap when we got back ( showing my age!)

But there's more: we came home, and Brendon and I headed for dinner theatre at Kalk Bay, where we met Kirsty and Roxie!! We got held up in a traffic jam, but still made it in time. The meal was great, and we headed downstairs for a comedic performance about parents and very young kids, all acted
