Up 4:20 AM to be ready for coffee, and rusks ( Afrikaans dry biscuit, like biscotti to dip in coffee ). Then off in the jeep to go on a bush walk, with three warden guides, armed!! Well, just as we got out of the lodge we met a pride of 7 lions!! Amazing, and close to the jeep, they just had had a drink at the waterhole close to the lodge. There are monkeys all over the place here, so don't leave your window open at night!! We saw a giraffe this morning, as well as impala, and a kudu ( a huge antelope) Got a nice pic of him. More zebra. One of the giraffes was still in bed! In other words, sitting, which is how they sleep. Eventually we went on the bush walk. We saw 2 tawny eagles, but no game at all!! Interesting bush knowledge though, had a brief breakfast in a lei ( dried watercourse) and returned to a Marula tree where we had parked the jeep. The breakfast was great at Treminisa, a full breakfast. Then we had the rest of the day till 1 to check out. I blogged. The others swam in the pool. Lunch was 1:30 pm, light and nice. Then we went on an afternoon drive. Not so successful. We did see a zebra close up....trying to make contact with a mate on the other side of the electrified fence! Saw some great birds at a waterhole, and lots of warthog families. Lots of impala, and then three giraffe quite close up. We went back to pick up our things at Treminisa, and drove on to Marc's Tree house, where we are now. As we entered we saw an ostrich and a buck called an Nyala, which was impressive but no time to take pics. The treehouse place is great....game can wonder all over. I am in the very last place on my own. It's not a treehouse, but a house right on the edge of the river. Great as it has it's own toilet, so I don't have to avoid buffalo to find the toilet at night!!. It's a long way to walk to get there. Tomorrow is an early start at Kruger. So off to bed. Thanks for checking in.
