March 9 Kruger to Johannesburg

Up early for a new location for breakfast, as it rained overnight. This is a major event. There has been a huge drought, so hopefully it will be broken by the late rains. Felt wonderful. Snakes were out right away, as one guest saw a huge one. I did not. Started raining in the middle of the night, and continued throughout the day. The monkeys figured out the new breakfast location pretty quickly. I made some good friends of other guests and am in contact with them. We left about 8AM, and had various toilet breaks, and then had a half hour break at the Blyde River Canyon, the third largest in the world, after Grand Canyon and Fish River Canyon ( Namibia?)  It was quite a sight to behold as they pics show. I am so glad I saw it. Weather was overcast, and the rain held off till we left. I bought a few souvenirs at the crafts displays. We stopped for lunch at Dullstroom, and I went to an Afrikaans Farm Stall. I saw the homemade rusks, chutneys, and lots of farm baking. I bought crunchies, my favourite from my childhood. Also had jaffle for lunch, which I have not had for many many decades. They had honey on the comb!!The rest of the journey was uneventful, and I was dropped off at the Outlook Lodge Guest house, ready to catch the plane to Port Elizabeth tomorrow.
