Just as well Rob and Ros had recommended arriving at Heathrow at 10:35 PM, as check in was 5:30 AM, and I had been expecting 3 hours before at 6:30 AM.....SO I was through and organized. Thank you Rob and Ros, and all through this holiday, family, especially in South Africa and Zim have been FANTASTIC in helping me through everything. Made the 9 hour flight, and had an aisle seat so spent time standing as it was near an exit and no-one behind.....I was able to do some standing yoga!! We arrived at 11:30 PM and had my visa checked, and all went well. Got my bags and looked outside the airport to see my friend Uday, with whom I was supposed to stay. He wasn't there! So, uncertainty was in the air!! No problem! I knew my way around Mumbai, how to get a decent taxi etc, which ones etc.....and found a taxi that offered me an excellent price to Marine Drive. Now, more uncertainty to embrace, as I had no accommodation organized. My travel agent would have been sweating heavily if she'd known at this stage, but I asked to go to my old hotel, Chateau Windsor, and, the universe worked it's marvels....no problem, got a room, for a better price than Canada, although expensive by Indian standards....breakfast included, plus I know all the staff by first name, so it was like coming home....they all recognized me. I couldn't sleep, so went for a 10 minute walk along Marine Drive, came home, and showered and fell into bed under nice cooling fans!! And A/C.
This was a very hectic day in two continents, jet lag, but all went well. I am now learning to expect that everything WILL go well. I never did before!
Thanks for checking in.....no pics today. I watched movies on the plane...lol!!
