Very early and stressful start to the day dealing with issues with the hotel. The tuk tuk was late, and had to draw cash to pay the hotel. Made it eventually and got to the Ayurvedic Retreat. I was quite stressed, and took a while to feel calm. However I feel it has been totally worth it. I feel at the end of the first day here that this was what I have been looking for in my travels in India. Ayurveda is a holistic approach to healing through diet, yoga, natural remedies, Indian vegetarian food, ayurvedic massage. I had an excellent massage today. I would need to explain it but it is nothing like a western massage. The weight loss yoga was quite strenuous and I attended an intermediate yoga class and fared quite well. Meals are great and I have been on various medications all day. The place is beautiful and although it is monsoon season, and it did rain a few times today, it is cool here, and quite gorgeous. The accommodation is great, and the place totally safe. I had all three meals today, and they are all super healthy. I have met some people from all over the world here, whites mainly. We also went into Bedford ( Coonoor) and I took my laundry to the Indian laundry that is apparently quite good, but there are water problems, despite all the rain. I'm sure it will be resolved soon. I have now decided to go to Chennai to sort out the pressing problems of an Indian visa. I have to leave the country by the end of June, so I will go face to face with Indian officials in CHENNAI to discuss my case. At least I will have information which I lack right now. If I'm not careful I will create huge problems of double airfares, and lost airfares. I am keeping positive, and doing what I can. I have good help from good Indian people here. It has been a super day here and I feel great on whatever the pills and potions I am taking. The yoga is a treat, and my body is responding well....it desperately needed the yoga, and great exercise etc.
