I am starting to feel better. I bought local Ayurvedic medication at the organic store, and it's cheap. Stuff like numeric, and many other good things. I am feeling better already. The English cold is gone, and I focus on weight loss. Evening meal will be yellow dahl ( lentils) overnight as it is so healthy and tasty, and low fat. The key is to avoid all the fatty options here. I know what part of the Indian breakfast is good for me and what is not. I am eating less. June/July are wellness months to end this marathon holiday. I started with yoga with Vinod on the Taj lawn this morning for an hour. Then hotel breakfast....the fruit salad is very good. I am planning to move to an ayurvedic hospital( think retreat wellness place of yoga/meditation/diet control/walks/cooking classes/consultation and drug free herbal medications. We will see, as prices go right up for foreigners.
After morning yoga with Vinod on the lawn mat, I walked to the hotel for breakfast. Then I was tired and needed a rest on the bed. I called the Ayurvedic Retreat place, and arranged to go for Tuesday. I am really looking forward to this place. It is very established, and has lovely grounds. I think it may have way more to offer than my July Ayurvedic retreat.
In the afternoon I went to Fabindia to buy Ros' kurta( koortah) . This was a first for me buying women's clothing!! The helpful male salesman started me off but got out of his depth and called the lady salesperson over. She is an attractive lady, and very helpful. I had to discuss bust size, hip size etc, and think it will fit Ros!! I got black leggings that scrunch at the ankle ( called churidar ). The design and colour look great. There were two other attractive Indian ladies, who saw me discussing the details of Indian ladies clothing and joined in with suggestions, and showing their own clothing off to teach me. Well, guys, I can recommend shopping for ladies clothing. We got chatting about Canada and travel too. It was a great excursion, quite an experience. How many husbands have bought clothing for their wives??
I came home, changed for yoga, and did yoga at the Taj. On the way to the yoga place a huge tree had broken down totally blocking the path to the yoga room. Guys were chopping pieces off with machetes. It was a huge mess. We had heavy rain twice today. I waited for Vinod, and had a fresh cold lime soda, then Vinod arrived. The manager of Taj offered small saplings as today is environment day. Hence the pic. Got home, had yellow dal and jeera rice ( with cumin, and other spices) and started the blog. Thanks for checking in.
